‘Alone Australia 2’ winner revealed

Aquaculturalist Krzysztof Wojtkowski has become the winner of Alone Australia Season 2 after surviving 64 days in the extreme and wild terrain of New Zealand’s South Island (Aotearoa’s Te Waipounamu), Completely isolated, stripped of modern possessions, contact and comforts, while challenged by the merciless forces of nature, hunger, and loneliness, the 39-year-old outlasted nine other participants to win the life-changing prize of $250,000.
Krzysztof said: “I still can’t believe that I’ve won. The thought of being the last person standing was never on my mind. For me, just getting out there and getting the opportunity to experience this was the big win for me. Time is finite, you only get so much time in the world, so make the best of every opportunity. I spent 64 days alone, but I never felt alone. I got to camp, I got to build things, I had a million-dollar view. I’ve learnt a lot from the experience and I’m so grateful for it.”

Ahead of tonight’s final episode, after 54 days, three participants remained – Personal Trainer & Subsistence Hunter Andreas, Wilderness Adventure Guide Suzan and Krzysztof. They all pushed themselves to their personal limit in hope of being the last one standing.
After 57 days, Andreas’s competitive streak reached a tipping point as he pushed his body in search of food. After losing 30 per cent of his starting bodyweight, he said “There is no way in any shape or form that I can sustain myself here any longer… This is as far as I’m willing to risk my health and sanity.”
Suzan relied once again on foraging to buy her more time in the competition, but with thoughts of home intensifying, she tapped out after 63 days. “I really did want to bring home the $250,000 to the family, you know, and that was a real drive. But more than that disappointment is the happiness of moving towards home, to my own forest, to my own pack.”
Krzysztof’s physical state had deteriorated further and a scheduled medical check on day 64 confirmed it was no longer safe for him to continue in the competition. But he’s told by crew that it’s not a medical extraction. With his partner Erin on her way to New Zealand, the producer confirms “she was hoping to be the one to tell you that you’re the last person standing. You’ve won!” While in recovery, Krzysztof reflects on his journey while Erin sneaks up on him from behind giving him the surprise of a lifetime.
