This Emmy-nominated miniseries starring Andrew Garfield is based on the hit 2003 non-fiction book of the same name by Jon Krakauer. It follows Latter-day Saint police detective Jeb Pyre, whose faith is put to the test after he is tasked with investigating a case linked directly to his church: the brutal murder of a mother and her baby daughter. How can one reconcile with their core beliefs when they are being used to justify dark and insidious behaviours?

Under the Banner of Heaven season 1 premieres Wednesday 3 July on SBS On Demand. Episodes air on SBS VICELAND weekly from Wednesday 3 July at 8:30PM.

From an assassination at a dog show to a murder below the Atlantic Ocean, this lovable duo will stop at nothing to unravel even the most puzzling of crimes. With this suite of episodes, we’ll see the first case the inseparable detectives solved together, as well as some of their most challenging mysteries to date.

By focusing less on dramatics and more on interpersonal relationships, Couples Therapy reveals just how much work it takes to truly heal.

Christine Steffen is preparing to perform her long-awaited solo, when she runs into the twin sister she never knew she had. Stunned and in disbelief, the two unpack the mystery of their origins and learn more about their respective lives in the East and the West.

Set in Glasgow, Dinosaur is a heartwarming Scottish drama about a young woman named Nina (Ashley Storrie), whose life is upended by news that her sister and best friend is getting married to a man she’s known for six weeks. Being thrust into the middle of planning a possibly-maybe-not ill-conceived wedding would be hard for anyone, let alone someone who is navigating their own personal challenges and stoking the flames of a new romance. Dinosaur is a poignant and realistic display of living with autism, which is only heightened by Storrie’s lived experience with the disorder.

D.I. Ray

Two months after her suspension from the force, Detective Inspector Rachita Ray returns to homicide to investigate a fatal shooting outside a hospital. There she discovers the victims: Frank Chapman, the head of a notorious crime family and a local nurse caught in the crossfire. Will D.I. Ray be able to uncover the truth behind this murder before tensions rise on the streets of Birmingham? Is this a simple case of a turf war between gangs turned violent or something far more sinister?

This espionage thriller is based on the 2018 book Les Espions de la Terreur by investigative journalist Matthieu Suc, which looks at the aftermath of the November 13 terror attacks in Paris, 2015. It follows members of the Directorate-General for Internal Security (DGSI) and the Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE) as they hunt down those responsible for the attacks, while faced with the perilous threat of further violence.

We’re All Gonna Die (Even Jay Baruchel) season 2 premieres Monday 29 July on SBS VICELAND with double episodes weekly. Episodes are available to stream on SBS On Demand at same time as broadcast. Season 1 will be available for limited catch-up from 11PM 20 July.
